Quality Engineering Technologist
Cambridge Full-Time Permanent Benefits RSP Profit Sharing
The primary function of the Quality Engineering Technologist is to ensure compliance to product quality as defined by the customer, code or other specifications through proper translation into working documents. The requirements are to be met per the company Quality Manual, in a cost effective way while also fulfilling the demand of the overall schedule.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure that the quality of the product being shipped meets customer requirements
2. Represent Quality Engineering at the contract level
3. Generate Quality Plans and Quality Engineering Plans for each contract as required
4. Implementation and input of the Quality Procedures Manual
5. Generate documents (procedures, inspection and test plan, quality control charts, history dockets, acceptance test reports, special process qualification programs, etc)
6. Review and approve drawings, bills of material, special process procedures and process documentation
7. Handle non-conforming materials by suitable disposition, conduct MRB meetings and define and implement corrective action
8. Review and approve purchase orders, material certifications and releases
9. Identify customer requirements and ensure through planning quality engineering activities they are met
10. Develop new techniques and establish training programs for them
11. Approve test results and troubleshoot testing problems
12. Design quality control fixtures and review and approve manufacturing fixtures
13. Identify need for process auditing on a contract basis
14. Expedite approval of quality documents by the customer
15. Assist in upgrading and maintaining the equipment calibration system
16. Assist in maintaining the “Approved Vendor Lists”
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct vendor audits and special investigations
2. Provide input for customer quotes
3. Compile updated summaries for each contract
4. Organize the Quality Engineering activities to fulfill overall schedule requirements
5. Perform the quality engineering filing and file organization per the Quality Engineering Administration Manual
6. Monitor costs for assigned contracts and indirect work without exceeding budgeted/quoted costs
7. Perform related duties and complete special projects as assigned
