Reporting to the Engineering Manager the you will be responsible for contract level project management duties and other engineering identified tasks under minimal supervision. The Mechanical Technologist is to explore various approaches to complex engineering problems and apply solutions proactively.

· Perform customer contract technical review including associated specifications and drawings, and identification of potential product or manufacturing risks.

· Participate in contract level status meetings and quote level design development meetings with the customer as applicable.

· Identify and transmit contract specific details requiring additional focus in departmental teams meetings including but not limited to design, materials, inspection and testing.

· Prepare and submit for approval contract level documentation which may include general assembly drawings, specification compliance reports, design reports, instruction manuals, progress reports and others as required.

· Design, assess, or revise as applicable and implement manufacturing level assembly and component drawings and process instructions.

· Design validation and verification activities for new and modified products or processes.

· Address contract specific manufacturing issues using proven techniques.

· Lead, identify and perform material review assessments within a multi-departmental team as assigned.

· Provide Engineering support including but not limited to technical calculations, ASME, ASTM material certification review as required.

· Assist in the development of engineering models, experimental prototypes, product components or test equipment implementation, working from sketches, rough outlines, or verbal instructions.

You have a Diploma from an Engineering Technologist program or equivalent in the appropriate discipline, 3 – 5 years of relevant industrial or manufacturing experience, proficiency in Auto Cad, Inventor, or SOLIDWORKS required, experience in a variety of business computer software programs for spreadsheets, word processing and presentation and excellent communication skills verbal and written.
